What a wonderful list! I remember fondly, many evenings at the Georgas house where a bunch of ’60s Rock n’ rollers sat and listened to Alex Georgas play Mozart from sheet music on his Gibson mandolin. Later, Son John would rip it up on the piano with works by Jerry Lee Lewis and B. Bumble! Their house was open to all, all the time! Fantastic times.
Mr. William Elliott at NHS was a remarkable educator.
He staged plays and musicals and left everyone with
great memories and stories. My good friend, Wayne Dewsbury, tells of a time when he (Wayne), didn’t want to use the word Hell and used the word Hades instead!? Mr. Elliott yelled out, “Boy, if you mean Hell, you say Hell”! Afterwards, one could hear the doors closing, down the hall from Mr. Elliott’s room.
