I have been a History Hound for as long as I can remember, a member of the Newmarket Historical Society and a local Genealogy enthusiast. Yes I would say that passionate is the word I would use to describe may relationship with our history!
This site is intended to be an archive of articles, photos, videos and oral history recollection relating to our history.
I plan to share many of the great stories that I learned growing up hearing then at family dinners and community gatherings. I look forward to receiving contributions from all those in the community who have a story to tell!
I can not remember a time when I was not fascinated by the study of history and specifically by the history of my town, Newmarket!

Local Heritage or Genealogy Reference
The Newmarket Library has an incredible Genealogy and Local History section on the lower level which includes books, periodicals, microfiche, newspaper clippings! You can also access the Era archives and Family Search website using the computers located on the floor for your use! Perhaps you will meet me there doing some research!
